Industry Councils
Joining one of the Chamber’s Industry Councils is a great way to make connections while having direct input into the activities of our organization. As well as a way members can increase their commitment to the Chamber while gaining additional exposure for their business. There is a Chamber committee for everyone’s expertise or interests.
Current Industry Councils include:
- Ambassadors Club - Chamber Ambassadors are an extension of the Chamber staff whose responsibilities include welcoming new members, strengthening relations with current members, and helping Members to gain the most value from their Chamber membership. Volunteer responsibilities include providing support to monthly networking events and programs and attending ribbon cuttings.
- FLAIR - FLAIR is the synergy of Finance, Law, Accounting, Insurance and Real estate. This unique grouping allows members in corresponding professional fields to network through quarterly mixers and to receive support from the Chamber.
- Global Trade - Meets with international delegations visiting New York and provide support to businesses looking to enter or expand into the New York City market.
- Government Affairs Committee - This group serves as an advisory group to guide the Chamber's advocacy and lobbying efforts to address issues that impact the business community and business climate.
- Health and Wellness - This committee helps to connect businesses within the various medical and wellness industries through on-going programming including health talks and mixers.
- Innovation Roundtable - Curates intimate conversations that provide critical intel and high-level networking to founders of mid-market firms in New York City. Co-Chairs: Jason Dodier, CCO & Co-Founder of GRAIN EcoSystem and Jay Norris, CEO & Co-Founder of Guesst
- Solo-entrepreneurs and Freelancers - Provides a platform for unique peer learning and resources to help guide independent contractors and people who are in the early stages of launching a business.
- Storefront Business Coalition - Organizes storefront merchants to help address industry issues, identify current industry trends, and advocate for collective needs.
- Small Business Owner's Roundtable - Brings people together to continue valuable conversations specific to small businesses via roundtable discussions and workshops that provide direct learning, networking, and peer-to-peer mentoring.
- Speakers Bureau - These Chamber members are promoted as potential speakers as experts in their field and are often tapped by the Chamber to respond to the relevant  media inquiries we receive.
- Supplier Diversity - Works with women- and minority-owned businesses to identify challenges as well as public and private entities that support MWBEs to bring training, resources and awareness to special certifications, business/contract opportunities, access to capital, etc.
- Sustainability, Energy and Resiliency Committee - Advises the Chamber and its members on environmental policies, issues, activities, events, and impacts pertaining to sustainability and environmental resilience, including but not limited to those relating to accessibility, adaptation to climate change, resource conservation, urban development, buildings, greenhouse gas emissions, transportation, energy, air quality, water, and waste reduction for the benefit of all residents.
- Women in Business - Through dynamic speakers, engaging dialogue, and networking opportunities, the Manhattan Chamber Women In Business Committee works to empower today’s professional women.
